Wilson, Grochow, & Druker partner Lawrence (Larry) Wilson has handled numerous motor vehicle cases including a Bronx County accident caused by an inadequate medial barrier that resulted in the death of a woman and caused severe injuries to her surviving husband. The $33.5 million verdict in this case was one of the largest ever obtained in New York State. Mr. Wilson also obtained $4 million for a laborer hit by a car on Long Island and $5.5 million for a woman hit and killed by a taxi cab.
In other motor vehicle cases, partner David Druker handled a case that settled for $900,000 for the claims of two women hit by a delivery truck as they were crossing the street. Mr. Druker has also represented many people injured in premises liability and slip and fall accidents including a woman who fell after her apartment building super failed to clear an ice patch. He obtained a settlement of $500,000 for her injury.
Mr. Druker also handles cases when building owners fail to provide adequate security to tenants. One such case involved a young woman sexually assaulted in her residential building. That case resulted in a $750,000 settlement.
Partner (Bob) Grochow handled a case involving a vehicle that went out of control and struck a teenage boy walking on the sidewalk. As a result of the injuries, the boy's leg was amputated. Mr. Grochow obtained a $5 million settlement for the boy. Mr. Grochow also represented an 80 year old Brooklyn woman who suffered a "below the knee" amputation after she was run over by the rear wheel of a bus as it left the bus stop. He succeeded in obtaining a $900,000 settlement on her behalf.
